Passenger Information Systems
Quaestor are the installation and maintenance partners in Ireland for Spanish company Ikusi, a company specialized in integration, engineering and technology development services.
In 2004 Ikusi first supplied the information system, public address, diagnosis, seat reservation, train-ground communications for the Iarnrod Eireann MKIV (High Speed Train between Dublin & Cork) passenger fleet. Since then, successive improvements and technology updates have been implemented with a long-term maintenance contract to ensure ongoing high performance of these systems.
Irish Rail has chosen the Ikusi solution to update its DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit), providing cars (17 trains – 68 cars) with new capabilities that will allow the customisation of messages, notices, advertising, etc. in a fully automated way, in addition to preparing it for future improvements.
Quaestor Engineering will undertake responsibility for the installation of the new system which will consistently and reliably provide accurate and timely information; provide good visibility/readability (displays) and deliver good intelligibility (audio).
